Meet Sue
Porini Design Studio is nestled in the beautiful hills of the Manawatu, New Zealand. Originally from Wales, my creative journey started over 40 years ago initially at Hornsey College of Art in London and finishing up with a degree in 3D Design in Jewellery and Silversmithing from Loughborough University, UK.
My fascination with metal has never diminished, be it the tiniest pair of earrings or a large silver chalice. The ability to take a solid, linear piece of silver or gold and form it into a softly curved organic form with an inherent strength is beauty in itself.
Jewellery has always been so much more than just metal and stones it’s a freedom of expression, it’s the ability to accentuate and lift the ordinary into the extraordinary.
It can give confidence, it can be a token of love but most of all it’s the power of choice. Handmade from me to you.
