This is what happens when a jeweller makes every single element by hand.

At the heart of Infinity sits a cluster of three silver discs, each one individually formed from sterling silver wire, soldered closed, and hammer flattened into a quiet sculptural presence. The two smaller circles are threaded onto the larger one before being soldered shut, creating a three part form that moves as one. No two are identical because no two hammer marks are ever identical.

From this focal point an 11mm silver-grey freshwater pearl drops as a pendant, hand linked onto the chain in the same way as every other pearl in this necklace. Further along the 60cm chain a 9mm peach pearl and an 8mm cream pearl add considered detail, each one individually connected through a twisted wire loop by hand.

The result is a long necklace with multiple points of interest that reveal themselves gradually as the eye travels along it. Worn at this length it layers beautifully over shorter pieces or works alone as a complete statement against a simple neckline.

The silver-grey pearl carries the cool lustre of deep water. The peach and cream accents warm it. The hammered silver discs ground the whole piece in craft.

Sterling silver, 60cm chain. 11mm silver-grey, 9mm peach, and 8mm cream freshwater pearls. Handmade in New Zealand by Sue Dunmore, Porini Design Studio.
