Kizuna. Bond. Connection.
Two high polish silver wires cross at the centre of a satin finished dome, their intersection the focal point of the whole piece. The X they form is one of the oldest marks in human communication. Here it becomes something quieter and more considered, two lines finding each other on a surface that absorbs light rather than reflecting it.
The contrast between the matte satin dome and the high polish wires is the defining quality of this piece. The dome recedes. The wires advance. The geometry sits against the softness and neither wins.
Available in small 1cm, medium 1.2cm, or large 1.4cm. Sterling silver, satin dome with high polish wire detail. Post soldered to centre, butterfly back. Gold wires available on request. Handmade in New Zealand by Sue Dunmore, Porini Design Studio.
