Two pearls. One earring. Day into evening.
Mirren starts as a small mauve freshwater pearl stud. Quiet, light, and easy to leave in from breakfast onwards.
Then evening arrives. Attach the soft grey pearl drop, with its two silver beads, and the same earrings hang differently. A little longer, a little more movement, a little more occasion.
Most of us have worn our day earrings to dinner and hoped nobody noticed. These take the hoping out of it.
The two pearls sit close in tone without matching, which is what makes them look considered rather than bought as a set.

Mirren is named after a wonderful woman who inspired me when she told me the story of a pair of diamond earrings she'd had made for her many years ago.
